About a decade ago, I came across two used books regarding the power of the Subconscious Mind. One was first published in 1948 with the latest printing in 1969 and the other was first published in 1963 with the latest printing in 1980 or 1986, I forget which.
At any rate, what I find most fascinating about these two books is that they are written by two different authors and the titles are different as well, one specifically mentions the “power of your subconscious” while the other talks about the “magic of believing.” However, when you read both books, they pretty much parallel each other, even quoting many of the same sources such as philosophers and poets alike.
I am intrigued because on the day in which I purchased these two books, my daughter and I had travelled to a near-by town to the local “thrift store” which for us was one and a half hours away from where we were living at the time (my daughter still lives there). On the way down to this city, she and I were discussing “the duality of the mind” and who is it that is referred to as the “ultimate observer,” so it was with some surprise — yet again — no surprise at all that I came across these two particular books. Because I realized that there really is no such thing as “coincidence” — the only thing there is, is “synchronicity.” I was meant to find these books in order to aid me in my search for why I exist in this “reality.”
Since then, these two books along with many others along the way, have been both an eye opener as well as a confirmation of what I already know and understand about the nature of reality; and how in essence we “create” our own world and what happens in that world. I am still hoping to find some intrepid folks out there who are not afraid to venture into this realm of metaphysics or mysticism and just accept it as a philosophical discussion. I am pleased that I did receive one comment so far from someone (on my previous blog) — he happens to be a relative of mine — however it does not make the response any less relative; and he brought some interesting discussions to bear on the subjects.
I really do look forward to many more people having the courage to discuss these types of topics without fear of being ridiculed. I for one do not find the subjects ridiculous in the least and I consider myself to be a reasonable, analytical and rational person. I am also highly creative and I have the ability to see an issue from more than just one side.
So please folks, lay down your defenses and join in, let’s see if we can get a “wave” started and allow all of humanity to become fully enlightened, which I believe is our ultimate goal. I encourage each and every one of you to find reading material along these lines so that you can have a background as to what we would be discussing and even if you don’t, you can at least ask questions and see if we can get a lively dialogue going.
In the mean-time, I look forward to hearing from you all. Let’s enter Zen from here. . . and always be in the Now! Thanks for your time! PEACE! Be Blessed! Carry On! Carry On!
